January 2012 saw Sunny Mummy officially merge with QLD based children’s charity, SunnyKids.
It was early 2010, when Sunny Mummy Founder, Stacey Sullaphen, contacted SunnyKids CEO, Chris Turner, to discuss the possibility of being an Ambassador for SunnyKids.
Growing up in a home filled with domestic violence together with drug and alcohol abuse, Stacey was all too familiar with how it felt to live in these conditions and be disadvantaged as a result. A prime example of rising above circumstances, both Chris and Stacey felt there was more than just an opportunity for Ambassadorship…
Numerous conversations and a move from NSW to QLD later, Staceys vision of Sunny Mummy becoming a non-profit organisation has been fulfilled, with Sunny Mummy and the Sunny Mummy Sisterhood, now an official part of the SunnyKids family.
The team at SunnyKids work with disadvantaged children and families by providing accommodation to homeless children and families; early intervention and prevention in primary schools and Youth Suicide Prevention, plus a host of award winning childrens programs and support to other community groups working with children.
At it’s core, SunnyKids believes that every child should have the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their circumstance and are committed to helping families SHINE!
Working together, the future is bright for Sunny Families all round.
